- Groomers are heading out tonight and tomorrow to assess the trails ride with caution lots of ice and water bars!!!
- 02/17/2022
- TRAILS ARE CLOSED - due to the 55+ degree weather and very thin base. rain is on the way tonight. Please stay off as we are trying to preserve what we have left. I see colder weather in the futurecast and more snow on the way. So please protect our excellent solid base and not draw complaints from landowners. Thank you.
- 01/17/2022
- Yup. The trails are officially open. Gates are down. Given the conditions today it would be nice to let the groomers pan the trails before the 9-day freeze up. Stay off if you can while it's soft. Let the groomers do their work to set up a nice base. Water bars are still out there. Freeze is coming for smooth trails.
- 05/10/2021
- May 12, 2021 meeting will be voting on updated club bylaws and officer positions. See you there.
- 03/11/2021
- GSA Trails are closed to snowmachines and all ATV's. Gates are going up. Please respect our landowners.
- 02/90/2021
- Hello good folks who ride the great trails of Gilmanton. It seems to be on. Trails are open. Not all connecting towns are open but we can go. Conditions are thin. I was out last night. Where the groomer has not made it yet - expect early "spring like" conditions. Rough trails. Some bare ground in places. Sticks, branches and some rocks. I crossed the groomer twice last night going in the opposite direction on my little evening 13 mile loop. Before the groom - bumpy with debris and felt like you were riding on the ground with thin cover. Passing the groomer felt like riding a roller coaster - though still thin. Steering was good. Don't goose the track and create unnecessary moguls. The groomers are working hard with what little snow they have. Bless the folks who work the trails at 3-5 miles an hours pulling the drag to do the best with what they have to work with. More is on the way though. Check the 10-day. Should be in better shape early next week. Remember - No landowner - No trail. You read this than you are welcome to join us tomorrow night at 7 (see above) to find out how hard we work so everyone can all blast around safely on the trails. 'till then. (p.s. If we have a camp going fire this weekend you're welcome to pull in for a warm up)
- 02/06/2021
- We have decided to open our trails. Keep in mind snow depth is not the greatest. Ride with caution early season conditions. Currently we have yet to pan the whole trail system, We will try to by the next storm. Surrounding towns have yet to open their trails. If we see this causing any issues we will be forced to close gates. Please keep our land owners property in mind while riding thanks GSA!!!
- 02/04/2021
- Trails unfortunately are still closed. The wind blew the snow around and most of the fields only have about 1 to 2 inches. Hopefully this storm Sunday brings in what they are saying. If we opened them up now the trails would be nothing but mud and would risk losing them long term, Please bare with us. Northern NH does have some riding. Thanks GSA.
- 02/03/2021
- ALL GSA TRAILS ARE STILL CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - per Trail Master
- We have groomed and trying to set a base. Snow layer is very very thin. Please stay off.
- We need another storm or two to open the trails. More snow is just days away. Thank you.
- ALL GSA TRAILS ARE STILL CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - per Trail Master
- 01/04/2021
- ALL GSA TRAILS ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
GSA TRAILS ARE CLOSED TO ATV/DIRT BIKE USE YEAR ROUND
This notice is two-fold. First, all trails in Gilmanton have insufficient snow cover and are currently closed. Please wait until our Trail Master gives the formal word when they are opened again. The trail status will be posted on this Facebook page.
IMPORTANT: ATV use on the Gilmanton snowmobile trails is ILLEGAL, TRESPASSING, DETRIMENTAL TO OUR CLUB MISSION. An incident this weekend involving illegal ATV operators and a landowner escalated into court order legal actions. The incident took place on one of our corridor trails. Our corridor trail is now at risk of closure. ATV use on any property in NH other than a designated (marked and signed) ATV trail requires written permission (a piece of paper with a signature) from the legal property landowner. The written permission must be on the ATV operator while riding. All Gilmanton snowmobile trails are closed year-round to ATV and dirt bike use.
Please help us save our trails by educating people who you know use ATVs. Teach them all of the snowmobile trails in our town do not permit ATV or dirt bike use. If you own an ATV or dirt bike don't negatively impact our community, be responsible. If you see ATVs or dirt bikes on the snowmobile trails take note and notify our club or Fish & Game. Thank you.
- ALL GSA TRAILS ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
- 12/16/2020
- REMINDER: I know. I know there's snow BUT per the trail master the trails are still CLOSED until further notice. GATES ARE STILL IN PLACE. The club and its volunteers have only covered a fraction of the trails to perform cleanup from the December 6th storm. More snow is coming. Several broken trees are still down totally blocking the trail - a real hazard. Both large and small. Spring bows everywhere. Not to mention water bars as the ground is barely frozen. Please stay off until further notice. Or better yet - please come join us Saturday morning, December 19 at Clairmont Asphalt mentioned above at 8:00am to volunteer and help us get the trails open sooner than later. We have bridge ramps to construct and install. Trees and brush to clear. Equipment to prepare. We will see how many folks show up and what they're good at and divvy up work crews from there. Help us make this winter a great season for snowmobiling in Gilmanton. Thanks.
- 12/8/2020
- We need big time help. Wait for the snow to melt off the trees so they stand up again and get your chain saw out to help with the major downed ones. Have received several concerns about fallen trees. No storm like this in memory with debris in trails. Please help take care of your own property. As of yet groomer can't move. Usual club crew won't be able to do it all. Trails are supposed to open 15Dec depending on conditions. Come to meeting. Volunteers count...!
- 11/25/2020
- Snow is currently on back order - should be arriving shortly.
- 10/07/2020
- No work parties on Saturday 10/10/2020. Please come to the next meeting so we can plan what is needed to be accomplished for the next work party. Thanks...!
- 09/24/2020

- 07/15/2020
- Already making plans for bridge repairs and trail work. Always looking for volunteers. Come join an Association meeting to find out more.
- 02/27/2020
- Unfortunately with the rain and warmth and the future forecast looking the way it does we have to close the trail system. Pray for cold weather and snow. {Trail Master from Facebook}
- 02/21/2020 {742 for GSA}
- SNACK SHACK is open 9am to 3pm Saturday 2/22 and Sunday 2/23. Come visit for some good eats and great company. See you out there.
- Oh ya... And we're grooming...!
- 9:03pm What are you doing reading this? Just got done doing my usual 11.1 mile circle around Frisky and Windy Hill. These are the trail conditions you've been waiting for. I'm disappointed not seeing another sled out there. Get out of the house and onto the near perfect trails. Cover is good. Not a rock to be seen. Water bars are froze up and most are covered with snow. Groomers are doing a great job. You've dreamt about sledding all year. Now get out there. Respect the land owners. Ride hard safely.
- 02/10/2020
- Trailmaster: TRAILS ARE OPEN but groomers won't be out until later. Read below...
- We have decided to open Gilmanton’s trails. Only the dog track’s gate in Belmont’s will remain closed. We will talk to the Bogie Busters and ask them about opening later in the week. There is not an over abundance of snow out there please ride with respect. Remember if we lose our relationship with our land owners we will lose our trail system. We are expecting more snow mid week and hope to be able to return to grooming. Until then ride with caution!!! {TS from Facebook}
- 02/09/2020
- Sorry folks. Trailmaster has CLOSED THE TRAILS until we have enough snow to run the groomers. Just not enough to work with right now. Please stay off and let it set up. I'll be the first to let you know when open as we are working hard to keep landowners in favor. Thanks for your understanding... {742 for GSA}
- 01/04/2020
- Most trails have been opened with the groomers hope to have rest opened by the weekend pleas ride cautious still have fallen trees to clear in places and a lot of open water remember stay in trail or stay home. Trail 15 to Gilford unfortunately will be a dead end at Durrel Mountain for most of the winter unless Gilford can get permission to ride along the area being logged fingers crossed. {TS from Facebook}
- Update to parking and unloading of snowmobiles in town best area to park at this time would be the Belmont casino on rt 106 the Hidden Valley Scout camps main lower parking lot has yet to be plowed and sanded leaving minimal areas to park will keep updated the scout camp hopes to try and get the lower lot plowed soon thanks GSA {TS from Facebook}
- GSA TRAIL PARKING AT THE HIDDEN VALLEY SCOUT CAMP
- 01/03/2020 - YES the trails are open for the most part. See trail report below...
- REMINDER: Corridor 15 into Gilford is a dead end (for now) due to logging operations. Gate may still be closed on Corridor 22 between Middle Route and Perkins Road. Will update as we learn more. (Purchase a new GPS trail map so you can easily locate these areas.)
- Groomers are working (weather depending) to have Parking at Lakes Region Casino (dog track) AND access to Brookside Pizza II & Tap (gas available) this weekend.
- Snack Shack warming hut will be open this weekend. They have new GPS trail maps available.
- VOLUNTEERS are still always welcome even though routine Saturday morning work parties are over. We have been getting a lot of requests from folks who wish to help with trail work or contribute time and materials. Call Dave C. at 603-387-0076 to make an arrangement. We still have some trees to clear.
- TRAIL REPORT: YES the trails are open and most gates are down. However it is 33 degrees out at the time of this writing and has been warm most of the day. We have a thin delicate base right now with decent coverage on most trails. Weather is expecting a rain snow mix with temps plus/minus 30 degrees through the weekend. Go easy out there. Groomers have done a wonderful job with what they have to work with. Would hate to see the thin base all ripped up before it hardens up again later in the week. There are the normal early season conditions. Be cautious of the many unfrozen water bars and low-lying wet areas, Also a few spots still have rocks and debris exposed due to thin base layer. And as always - please respect our many landowners. Our entire trail system is mostly built upon privately owned land. Without them we wouldn't have a trail system. So please ride safe and respectful to keep our sport. {742}

- 1/2/18 - I would like to remind all of our trail users that in order to have land owners allow snowmobiles to ride on their property, sleds must remain on the trails maintained by the local club and not veer off trail onto land not permitting snowmobiles. Just one person doing this is how local trails become closed to the rest of the riders who have adhered to the rules of riding our trails. Remember, "Stay on trail, or stay home"!
